Subject Description

This subject is a continuation of 126-065 Intermediate Swedish B. It focuses on reading, writing, vocabulary and grammatical structure, making use of a number of different types of texts, including literary works by important Swedish authors. Thereby, students will increase their understanding of Swedish in both contemporary and historical contexts. Students will expand their vocabulary to a higher level of complexity in the speaking, aural understanding, reading and writing of Swedish. On completion of the subject, students should have achieved the level of competence required for admittance to 126-070 Advanced Swedish A.

  • have further developed speaking and listening skills;

  • be able to express themselves in a variety of contexts;

  • be able to work efficiently as a team member and have an understanding of social and cultural diversity.

Assessment

A 2-hour written examination 40% (end of the semester), weekly assignments totalling 1000 words 30% (throughout the semester), and a major report totalling 1000 words 30% (end of the semester).
