Subject Description

This subject explores alternative approaches to using management systems for grappling with the complexities of the natural environment. It covers project management, decision support systems, risk management and scheduling as well as cost benefit analysis, monitoring and controlling the externalities that arise from interference with the natural environment. It also covers the question of environmental standards in Australia and elsewhere, including transparency, accountability and auditing compliance.

  • be able to write concise reports or essays.

Assessment

A 3-hour examination and practical exercises totalling 4000 words for 3rd year and 5000 words for 4th year.
