110-167 Indonesian Level 1B

This subject complements 110-167 Indonesian Level 1B by developing students' Indonesian speaking and listening proficiency and reinforcing other language resources (eg. grammar and vocabulary) through oral interaction.

• acquire written communication skills through essay writing and seminar discussion;

• show attention to detail through essay preparation and writing;

• acquire time management and planning skills through managing and organising workloads for recommended reading, essay and assignment completion;

• acquire public speaking skills through tutorial and seminar discussion and class presentations.

Two group presentations 40% (due early semester and late semester), an in-class presentation 20% (due late semester), a practice presentation which will not be assessed, however, is compulsory by mid-semester, a 10-minute oral test 20% (due during the examination period) and continuous class participation 20%. Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination.
