Subject Description | This course builds on the knowledge already acquired by students in Chinese in 110-162 Introductory Chinese 3A. It will further develop the range of students' listening and speaking skills; expand their experience of Chinese prose styles; and improve their ability to communicate professionally in written Chinese. |

Assessment | Oral and listening comprehension class work 20% (due weekly in class), a 10-minute oral examination 10% (due at the end of semester), a 30- minute listening test 10% (due at the end of semester), a reading test 10% (due mid-semester), writing tests 15% (due in week 6 and week 10 in class), a 1-hour final exam 25% (due at the end of semester) and continuous class participation 10%. |
