Subject Description | This subject involves continued development of sophisticated spoken and written Indonesian, consolidating and expanding students' knowledge of Indonesian culture. On completion of the subject students should be able to hold simple conversations in Indonesian about a variety of topics, including daily life and current issues in Indonesian culture and society. Students should also be able to read general newspaper articles and simple short stories in Indonesian with the help of a dictionary and to write informal letters and short essays. |

Assessment | Three tests 30% (early semester, mid-semester and late semester), an essay of 1750 words 10% (due late semester), class presentation 10% (due late semester) and a 2-hour final written examination 50% (due during the examination period). Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination. |
