Subject Description | In this subject emphasis is placed on more sophisticated spoken and written Indonesian and on consolidating and expanding knowledge of Indonesian culture. The subject is designed around topics that enable students to develop through discussion a better understanding of Indonesian society, and to be articulate on these topics in Indonesian. Students should be able to hold simple conversations in Indonesian, read simple texts with the help of a dictionary, and write simple essays in Indonesian. |

Assessment | Three tests 30% (due early semester, mid-semester and late semester), an essay of 1750 words 10% (due late semester), a class presentation 10% (due late semester) and a 2-hour final written examination 50% (due during the examination period). Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination. |
