Subject Description

This subject examines Greek artistic and architectural development from the early 1st millennium BCE to the end of the Hellenistic period (31 BCE). Students should become familiar with issues of artistic technique and style, ancient building methods, the social and religious context of Greek art and the function of Greek architecture.

Assessment

A 2-hour examination and an essay of 2000 words.
