Note

Students may enrol in this subject only if they have already completed all other optional subjects available, and have the prior approval of the subject coordinators. Special enrolment arrangements apply. Students must contact both the Faculty of Arts Office for application forms and further details, and the coordinator of the subject at La Trobe University prior to enrolling. Students may take no more than one Spanish reading course towards their Spanish major.

Subject Description

A limited number of students studying Spanish may be permitted to take an individual reading subject. After consultation with an appropriate member of staff who agrees to act as a supervisor, and before enrolling in the subject, students must submit an outline of the proposed topic and preliminary bibliography to the coordinator for approval. Approval may not be given if there is a substantial overlap between the proposed topic and the content of an existing subject.

Assessment

Essay/s or a research report equivalent to 4000 words for 3rd year, 5000 words for 4th year, as arranged for each individual student. Fourth year students are expected to demonstrate greater achievement and application of research (and language) skills.
