Subject Description

This subject is a practical introduction to the Spanish language. The student learns the language largely in simulated real-life situations (a communicative approach to language learning), rather than through instruction in grammar and translation. Throughout the semester, cultural aspects of the Hispanic world are introduced through the language classes.

Assessment

Written work totalling 1000 words, oral/aural work totalling 1500 words, a 1-hour end of semester written test, and a 15-minute listening test.
