Subject Description | This subject introduces students to theories of the body and explores the ways in which gender relates to performance. It examines issues concerning femininity and masculinity in performance and considers how particular attitudes to gender are reflected in theatrical genres such as romance and tragedy. |
Assessment | A research essay totalling 2500 words, a seminar presentation of up to 30 minutes equivalent to 1000 words, participation in seminars (evidence of having sought out and comprehended recommended reading material; quality participation in group discussions, workshops and performance exercises) equivalent to 500 words. |
