Subject Description | Upon completion of this subject students should be able to describe how bacteria and parasites cause disease and how infectious diseases caused by bacteria and parasites are spread, diagnosed, treated and/or prevented. Students should also be able to apply relevant knowledge of microbial pathogenesis, immunity and epidemiology to the determination of appropriate strategies for developing new diagnostic protocols, treatments or vaccines.
