Subject Description

This subject introduces students to the Asia Pacific region through an examination of those factors that impact on doing business within it. It explores the key business and management factors within a geographic region that encompasses more than half the world's population and is the fastest growing economic region of the world. The subject focuses on how firms from different countries have responded to the opportunities presented within the region to extend their activities across national borders through inter-regional trade, multi-country operations and investment flows. The subject will have a large practical element in that students will undertake research to investigate a business opportunity within the region.

Assessment

A 2-hour end-of-semester examination (50%), tutorial assignments (10%), and a written assignment of no more than 3000 words (40%).
