Subject Description

The subject introduces accounting standards, regulation of accounting and the preparation and analysis of accounting reports with particular emphasis on the standards applicable to rural and regional industries.

Topics include: the role of accounting standards, development of accounting standards, interaction of accounting standards and the law, regulation of corporate accounting, financial analysis or financial reports, and key accounting standards.

Assessment

A 3-hour end-of-semester examination (50%) and assessment of tutorial worksheets (30%) and a 2000-word assessment (20%).
