Subject Description | This subject examines the nature of philosophy itself. It should encourage students to reflect on the nature and methods of the philosophy they have studied to date. It is intended for students nearing completion of a philosophy major, but may also be taken by others. Students will read what many great philosophers have said about the nature of philosophy. By the end of the topic students should be able to understand and evaluate these ideas, as well as to articulate and defend their own views on the matter. |
Assessment | Written work totalling 4000 words, plus regular participation in tutorials. |
