126-046 Intermediate Swedish A (on-line).

This subject is offered on-line and builds on skills acquired in Beginners Swedish, or equivalent. It focuses on reading, writing, vocabulary and grammatical structure, making use of different types of texts and tasks. Thereby, students will gain an increased understanding of Swedish in an extended variety of written contexts. Students will expand their vocabulary to a moderate level of complexity in different modes of expression, ranging from receptive to productive language (eg reading, listening, writing, discussing). On completion of the subject students should have: developed an increased understanding of written Swedish in a variety of contexts; acquired written communicative skills for expressing themselves with an increasing level of ease and correctness; achieved the level of competence required for admittance into 126-066 Intermediate Swedish C and 126-067 Intermediate Swedish D.

Assessed written work equivalent to 4000 words according to the following: submission of exploratory tasks equal to 1000 words, reading comprehension tasks eqivalent to 1000 words, and a 2-hour online final exam (composition, grammar and vocabulary).
