Subject Description | In this subject various activities and exercises are intended to foster linguistic competence in a number of areas: oral-aural communication skills required in normal and professional life, in particular, for oral presentations (exposés, interviews, debates etc.); pronunciation, in particular, acquisition of native-like patterns of delivery; ability to write in different registers. Students should complete the subject with a mastery of a wide range of vocabulary related to the themes and genres studied in class; and an ability to analyse, discuss and use complex grammatical and discourse structures at sentence and text level. |
Assessment | A 1.5-hour test, written and oral practical exercises totalling 2500 words, and a 30-minute oral presentation. For mid-year entry students assessment will be as for 116-461 French IV: Honours Language I. |
