116-220 Intermediate Spanish A
Note	Students who have completed 922-003 or 922-213 La Trobe-Spanish Beginners 2A are not eligible to enrol in this subject. This subject is taught by the School of Languages at the University of Melbourne.

Prerequisites	Completion of first year Beginners Spanish (37.5 points) or adequate knowledge of Spanish, without completion of VCE Spanish or an approved equivalent. Students should consult with departmental advisors prior to enrolment.

Contact	A 1-hour seminar and 3 hours of practical language classes per week
Subject Description	This subject emphasises Spanish speaking and listening skills, while also attending to the development of reading and writing skills. The student will be involved in a wide range of language acquisition activities and will be exposed to the Spanish language and Hispanic culture through written language, radio, TV and film.
Assessment	Written work of 1500 words, oral/aural tests (1500 words equivalent) and a 1-hour written test.
