116-142 Beginners Italian Part 1B

Formerly available as 116-050. Students who have completed 116-050 are not eligible to enrol in this subject.

Students who have attempted Year 11 or 12 Italian or its equivalent are not permitted to enrol.

116-141 Beginners Italian Part 1A.

This subject is designed to assist the language learning of students already enrolled in 116-141 Beginners Italian Part 1A. Weekly multimedia classes based on audio, video, music and computer activities will reinforce and improve students listening comprehension and communicative competency. A weekly lecture/seminar will introduce students to Italian culture, including literature and film. By the end of the semester students should have acquired the skills necessary to read and discuss simple literary texts.

Three class tests totalling 500 words, a 500-word dictation test and a 1-hour exam.

A subject reader will be available through the Melbourne University Bookshop.
