116-065 Italian Part 3 Language 2

116-064 Italian Part 3 Language 1 (Compulsory) or 116-067 Italian Part 3A Language 1 (Compulsory).

This subject will focus on a number of texts in contemporary Italian, to acquaint students with different writing strategies. There will be emphasis on advanced literary and non-literary translation. On completion of this subject, students should have refined their linguistic skills, both written and oral; acquired the skills to translate from and into Italian texts in different registers; and have acquired the ability to discuss in Italian, both orally and in writing, extended prose texts, literary and non-literary.

Take-home assignments totalling 2000 words, a 15-minute class paper, and two hours of written tests.
