Subject Description

In this subject students should develop global language skills necessary to understanding authentic Indonesian language transmitted through a variety of popular and non-print media, eg. radio, television, film and the internet. Topics will cover a variety of current affairs in Indonesia, including gender and ethnic issues. Information accessed through these media will form the basis for critical discussion and student projects in Indonesian.

Assessment

Written work totalling 500 words, a 10-minute aural/oral test and a listening test equivalent to 500 words. Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination.
