This subject explores the principles of the craft, the history and the theory of editing, incorporating a study of the publishing industry and applied editing.

A folio of editing exercises and assignments totalling 4000 words for 3rd year, 5000 words for 4th year. Fourth-year students must complete a major self-editing assignment; regular attendance and participation in tutorials and workshops.
