740-149 Baroque and Classical Music

Faculty Musicianship Test or 740-139 Discovering Music-2. For international students a score of 6.5 on IELTS or a pass in AESL1.

This subject encourages students to develop a technical, artistic and cultural appreciation of Western music in classical antiquity, medieval and early modern Europe. Aimed at the critical evaluation of music in its cultural context, students will develop skills in written and oral communication, bibliography, and the analysis of scores and performances.

a) Written projects to a total of 2000 words (40%); b) End-of-semester 3-hour examination (60%).
