Subject Description | This subject introduces the fundamental processes of identifying requirements, specifying, and designing information systems. Students will gain experience in the tools and techniques for all stages of the analysis and design cycle. Topics may include analysis techniques, data modeling, feasibility assessment, process modeling, automated support tools including computer aided software engineering (CASE), database design and specification, prototyping, and systems development methodologies. Assessment | A 2-hour end-of-semester written examination (50%); and group project work (50%). Successful completion of this subject requires a pass in both the exam and the practical portion of the assessment. |
