Subject Description	This subject examines aspects of the social, political and economic contexts of schooling. Topics include analysis of the work, role and careers of teachers, contemporary educational issues and development of a personal philosophy of education within the context of teaching as a profession.
Assessment	Assignments totalling 4000 words, or equivalent.
Prescribed Texts	A book of readings will be required for this subject.
