Subject Description | Topics include 3-D transformation of stress and strain, flexural deflections, reciprocity, properties of sections and unsymmetrical bending, shear centre, indeterminacy, long columns, plastic behaviour of structures, uniform and non-uniform torsion, and lateral torsional buckling of beams. |
Assessment | One 3-hour written examination (75%) and practice classes and laboratory work (25%). |
