Subject Description | This subject examines a number of the philosophical issues that arise in connection with modern formal logic. It introduces students to questions concerning the metaphysical and epistemological status of logic and the machinery connected with it. Students will encounter contemporary views and arguments on these issues. By the end of the subject, students should develop an understanding of these matters, as well as an ability to articulate and defend their own views on the matters covered. |
