Subject Description

This subject will focus on a number of texts in contemporary Italian, to acquaint students with different writing strategies. There will be emphasis on advanced literary and non-literary translation. On completion of this subject, students should have refined their linguistic skills, both written and oral; acquired the skills to translate from and into Italian texts in different registers; and have acquired the ability to discuss in Italian, both orally and in writing, extended texts, literary and non-literary.

Assessment

Take-home assignments totalling 2000 words, a 15-minute class paper, two hours of written tests, and a 15-minute oral test.
