110-165 Indonesian Level 1A

No knowledge of Indonesian is assumed at the beginning of this subject.

This is an intensive subject developing the ability to speak, read and write Indonesian. Students should learn basic vocabulary and sentence patterns enabling them to communicate at a very simple level and should have acquired basic knowledge about Indonesian society and culture.

Written work totalling 2000 words and a 2-hour examination. Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination.
