Students commencing a major in Hebrew studies with this subject must also complete 109-130 Introduction to Modern Jewish Culture at first year.

109-132 Hebrew 2B and a corequisite cultural subject or VCE Hebrew or an approved equivalent.

In this subject students will study modern Hebrew literary texts, conversational idiom and grammar. At the completion of this subject students should have an enriched knowledge of the language through the use of modern Hebrew literature, the modern idiom spoken in Israel today, including its vocabulary, grammar and syntax, and be prepared for a broader range of expertise.
