Subject Description | This subject is an introduction to sets of archaeological methods applied to the study of past human cultures from around the world, including the Near East, Egypt, Mesoamerica, Australia and the Pacific region. Students should become familiar with the basic approaches of modern archaeology to the ways cultures and civilisations in the remote past operated, interacted and changed through time. An emphasis is placed on the ways archaeologists design their work to investigate questions about the past. |
Assessment | A research essay of 2500 words and a reflective essay/take-home examination of 1500 words. |
