Subject descriptions
The subjects incorporated with biology (offered by the School of Botany, the Department of Zoology and the Department of Genetics in the Faculty of Science) serve to introduce students to modern concepts in biological science.
The first-year biology subjects listed below and the botany Summer Semester subject 606-207 Flora of Victoria may be taken as part of the Bachelor of Arts degree.
Students undertaking the Bachelor of Arts are permitted to enrol in a range of subjects offered by other faculties, but must complete a minimum of 50 points of first-year subjects in areas of study approved by the Faculty of Arts. See Arts-approved subject requirement for more information.
BA combined course students are not permitted to enrol in these subjects for credit towards the arts component of the combined degree. Please consult an Faculty of Arts course adviser for more information.
