Subject Description | This subject is an introduction to Biblical Hebrew. It covers some essential elements of the grammar of Biblical Hebrew and introduces some basic vocabulary. It introduces students to aspects of translation of Biblical Hebrew as well as the main lexical aids. On completion of the subject students should be able to translate basic nominal and verbal sentences; have mastered about 150 basic words in Biblical Hebrew; and be able to read Hebrew script well. |
Assessment | Written work totalling 4000 words, comprising weekly exercises and vocabulary tests, and a 2-hour examination. |
