Subject Description | In this subject various examples of Greek and Greek-Australian popular culture, folkloric and traditional texts are analysed from the point of view of their transmission, collection, classification, cultural status and ideological significance. Theories of popular culture, folklife and oral composition will be studied in relation to Greek texts. Students who complete this subject should be able to analyse and evaluate a range of evidence and theory relating to Greek language, culture and society, and be prepared for conducting independent research. |
