Subject Description

This subject involves consolidation of work learned in Semester 1 with particular reference to the situational context of speaking, listening, reading and writing the language. The experience of Vietnamese community in Australia is analysed by using post-1975 Vietnamese literary works, newspaper articles and other relevant research. Students who complete the subject should be able to take part in a conversation with a native speaker; and deal with matters relating to the basic needs of immigrants and visitors from Vietnam.

Assessment

A book review of 1500 words, an assignment of 1500 words, a 1-hour written test, and a 2-hour oral exam. Students must attend at least 70% of classes to be eligible for assessment.
