Subject Description | The objective of the subject is to extend students' ability to compile, analyse and interpret information on rural resources, and to apply this to the management of natural and agricultural ecosystems. The content includes ecosystems dynamics and stability, ecological survey methods, conservation of flora and fauna, public and private land management, park management, scenic quality assessment, rural land use planning and land classification systems, rural property planning, the role of extension and research in resource management, and issues in rural water resource. |
Assessment | Two assignments of 1000 words each (10% each); assignment of 2500 words (30%); 3-hour examination (50%). |
