Subject Description

The objective of this subject is for the student to:

  • develop an understanding of the principles involved in the holistic approach to whole farm planning;

  • apply the basic principles of whole farm planning to a reference farm;

  • prepare a whole farm plan; and

  • develop the rudimentary skills involved in the collaborative processes in leadership, particularly those related to problem-solving techniques in whole farm planning.

The content includes examination of whole farm planning philosophy and theory, the application of whole farm planning principles to the preparation, and presentation of whole farm plans for specific commercial reference farms.

Assessment

Preparation and presentation of whole farm plans and written reports.
