Subject Description | This subject is an intensive study of a particular area selected by the lecturer from one of the following: postmodernism, animation, avant-garde and experimental film, and documentary. The topic selected will be examined in terms of its history, conventions and principal aesthetic features, with emphasis placed upon the examination of a broad range of texts, and of theorists and practitioners working within that area. Assessment | An individual creative/critical writing/response project and a folio of any of the following: a collection of photographs, CD-ROMs, computer discs, videos, film strips, sound tapes or discs, and accompanying critical writing equivalent to 4000 words for 3rd year, 5000 words for 4th year. |
