Subject Description | The course deals with selected topics of animal physiology, in particular those that relate to muscles and nerves. Emphasis will be placed on the comparison of examples drawn from across the animal kingdom. Discussion of each topic will draw on the results of study at the level of molecules, cells, organs and organ systems. At the completion of the practical component, students should understand the design of experiments, and have developed by first-hand experience an insight into the collection of data like those dealt with in lectures. |
Assessment | A 2-hour end of semester written examination; up to 15 page of practical assigments |
