610-225 Organic Chemistry Practical

One of chemistry 610-141, 610-161 or 610-051 AND one of 610-142, 610-162 or 610-052. Concurrent enrolment in 610-221 is strongly recommended.

Upon completion of 610-225, the student should develop skills to synthesize simple organic molecules; qualitative laboratory manipulative skills; and skills to record and interpret chemical observations.

The course will consist of a number of experiments involving techniques for the synthesis of important classes of organic compounds.

Practical work will be continuously assessed in the form of short reports.
