Subject Description

This subject is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of current philosophies, structure, levels of support and developmental and educational evaluation informing curriculum and behavioural interventions required to educate and support students with additional needs in regular settings. It will entail a study of the effects of a range of developmental and acquired differences commonly found in children and the implications of these for learning and teaching.

Assessment

Assignment(s) totalling 2000 words, and a 2-hour written examination.
