Subject Description | The specification, estimation and testing of a range of models used to analyse microeconometric data is examined in this subject. Normally topics will include discrete choice models, stochastic frontier models, estimation of censored and truncated specifications, models for duration data, models with self-selectivity, Poisson specifications to model count data, and panel data. Maximum likelihood estimation procedures are discussed as well as nonparametric and semi-parametric estimation methods. The computer software used is TSP and LIMDEP. |
Assessment | A 2-hour examination (60%); and class assignments (40%). |
