Subject Description | This subject is an introduction to microeconomic theory and policy. Topics include the economy and economic decisions; production and exchange; markets, demand and supply; application of supply and demand; market structures; firm costs; perfect competition; monopoly; and government in the economy. |
Assessment | A 2-hour end-of-semester examination (70%), a multiple choice test (5%), two assignments each not exceeding 2000 words (20%) and tutorial attendance and participation (5%). |
