Subject Description | This subject forms a study of Irish migration to Australia, the UK and the US in the 19th and 20th centuries. Students who complete the subject should have a grasp of the changing historiography of, and major theoretical issues in, migration studies and of central themes in migration history, such as the migrant experience, the response to the migrant presence, and the impact of migration upon various societies. Students are encouraged to exploit the richly diverse sources available to pursue their own research in this subject. |
