Subject Description | This subject includes and intensive four-week study of the Holocaust in which students will come to understand some of the critical issues arising from the destruction of European Jews, and other victims of Nazi policies. Through historical background and guest lectures by survivors, the course will examine recent acts of genocide in Cambodia, Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia. A strong emphasis will be placed on international responses and the possibility of intervention, and students will be required to engage with current sources of information in newspapers, television and documentaries. |
