Subject Description

This subject aims to develop students' proficiency in basic idiomatic and conversational forms. Students should develop a proficiency in written structures of moderate complexity and be able to formulate such structures clearly and accurately. Students should also develop the ability to interpret messages at an intermediate level of complexity occurring in a variety of audio-visual media and in individual and group spoken forms. On completion of the subject students should have the level of language competency required for admittance into 126-017 Advanced German 2 (Core) A and 126-015 Advanced German 2B.

Assessment

A 2-hour exam, a 20-minute oral examination and written work totalling 1000 words.
