Subject Description

In this subject students should acquire a proficiency in basic idiomatic and conversational forms and in written structures of moderate complexity. Students should also acquire the ability to interpret messages of an intermediate level of complexity occurring in a variety of audio-visual media and in individual and group spoken forms. On completion of the subject students should achieve the level of language competency required for admittance into 126-012 Advanced German 1C and 126-013 Advanced German 1D.

Assessment

A 2-hour exam, and a 20-minute oral examination and written work totalling 1000 words.
