Subject Description

This subject is both grammar and text-based and will drill students' ability to speak, read and write German while also contributing to the extension of both active and passive vocabularies. If proceding to German at second year level, students should achieve the level of competency required for admittance into 126-017 Advanced German 2 (Core) A and 126-015 Advanced German 2B. If proceeding to German at third year level, students should achieve the level of competency required for admittance into 126-006 German 3 Intermediate (Core) A and 126-021 German 3 Intermediate B or 126-018 Advanced German 3 (Core) A and 126-019 Advanced German 3B.

Assessment

A 2-hour examination, an aural examination equivalent to 400 words, a 10-minute oral examination and weekly vocabulary tests totalling 600 words.
