Subject Description | This subject involves an extension of the work done in Beginners German A and B. During the subject students will endeavour to command a knowledge of the principal grammatical structures of the German language and attain the capacity to apply these in writing. On completion of the subject students should be able to read and evaluate a wide variety of texts ranging from newspaper items to journal articles, short stories and poems. Students should achieve the level of language competency required for admittance into 126-005 Intermediate German A and 126-007 Intermediate German B. |
Assessment | A 3-hour examination, short weekly assignments and fortnightly vocabulary tests equivalent to 1000 words. Students need to attend at least 80% of the classes to be admitted to the examination. |
