Subject Description | This subject examines some of the theoretical trends and methods of ethnography and ethnology that define contemporary socio-cultural anthropology. Subject content, readings, and seminar projects will vary from year to year. In 2002, the seminar will focus on the nature of social institutions and their relationships to ideologies and cultural values. Members of the seminar will collaborate on designing and carrying out a research project requiring the application of qualitative anthropological methods and on writing up the results of the research. |
