Subject Description

This subject builds on speaking and listening skills in French acquired in 116-002 Beginners French IB. The aim of the subject is twofold: first, to familiarise students with the speech patterns of a range of native speakers, differing in age, sex and social background; second, to give students the opportunity to practise speaking skills in a variety of situations, for example, information seeking, describing people, places and things, story-telling, and giving advice. Students will also continue work on pronunciation, intonation and rhythmic patterns.

Assessment

Two 15-minute listening comprehension tests, and a 10-minute oral exam.
